We’ve all noticed, Gig Harbor and the surrounding unincorporated areas are growing, fast. The local candidates that get elected this year will have a profound effect on the course our community takes to manage this rapid growth.
We believe that responsible citizenship starts by being engaged politically at the local level. To help our neighbors learn more about this year’s local elections, we’ve prepared a handy 2017 Candidate Guide to keep track of who’s who. So download the guide, come to the forum and be in the know. (Download guide In the comment section of this event)
Hosted by Indivisible Gig Harbor, a grassroots coalition of engaged citizens pursuing progressive action to transform the current political climate on local, state, and federal levels.
Indivisible Manchester
We believe that the next four years depend on Americans across the country standing indivisible against the Trump agenda. We believe that buying into false promises or accepting partial concessions will only further empower Trump to victimize us and our neighbors. We hope that this guide will provide those who share that belief with useful tools to make Congress listen.
Groups are wholly independent. These groups agree to resist Trump’s agenda, focus on local, defensive, congressional advocacy, and embrace progressive values.

Womxn’s March on Seattle
The Womxn’s March on Seattle, in solidarity with the Women’s March on Washington, will take place at 10 a. m. on Jan. 21. It begins with a rally at Judkins Park and concludes at Seattle Center. There are eleven sister marches in Washington State.
The organizers respectfully request* that participants be silent while marching from Judkins Park until they pass the last speaker on the route. Once participants have passed the last speaker: raise your collective voices and chant, sing, and shout all the way to Seattle Center!

To increase our 26th Legislative District participation in the Seattle March, those who are interested will be encouraged to gather at the Gig Harbor Park-n-Ride on Kimball and self-organize carpools to travel to the event.
Participants should plan to gather at the Park-n-Ride at 7:30 a.m.—this should allow sufficiently time to assemble into carpools and depart at 8:00 a.m.
