June 27: THE RESISTANCE
Howgozit? Where next? Join us for a discussion with local resistance leaders about a path forward for our city, state and nation. Robyn Denson will be the guest moderator. Look for updates on the groups that will speak.
We believe that the next four years depend on Americans across the country standing indivisible against the Trump agenda. We believe that buying into false promises or accepting partial concessions will only further empower Trump to victimize us and our neighbors. We hope that this guide will provide those who share that belief with useful tools to make Congress listen.
Groups are wholly independent. These groups agree to resist Trump’s agenda, focus on local, defensive, congressional advocacy, and embrace progressive values.

Join NWDC Resistance and the CARW Migrant Justice Solidarity Group on the first Saturdays outside the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This Saturday Solidarity Day shows our support for families visiting their loved ones in detention and our resistance to the oppressive immigration, prison system.
If you bring food and drinks for families visiting loved ones in detention, please email luke.t.quinn@gmail.com. Foods that are easy to eat on a long car ride are best—sandwiches in bags, granola bars, cookies, etc. Coffee and hot water (for tea or hot chocolate) and drinks for kids are needed, as well.
**We will be outside, so warm clothing and rain gear recommended. There is also no bathroom in walking distance.

What is Drinking Liberally?
This is an informal, inclusive, progressive social group. Raise your spirits while you raise your glass, and share ideas while you share a pitcher. Drinking Liberally gives like-minded, left-leaning individuals a place to talk politics. You don’t need to be a policy expert and this isn’t a book club – just come and learn from peers, trade jokes, vent
frustration and hang out in an environment where it’s not taboo to talk politics.
Bars are democratic spaces—you talk to strangers, you share booths, you feel the bond of common ground. Bring democratic discourse to your local democratic space – build democracy one drink at a time.
While drinking liberally, always remember to drink responsibly, and make liberal use of designated drivers. Drinking and driving is reckless and irresponsible, like a neocon war or corporatist tax cut. Liberals, don’t do it.
