COULD GIG HARBOR DO MORE FOR RACIAL JUSTICE?

Join nationally recognized racial justice thought-leader, Erin Jones, and youth voices of Gig Harbor, as they help us recognize JUNETEENTH with this family-friendly event for RACIAL JUSTICE!

    WHAT IS JUNETEENTH?
Most of us were taught in school that the Emancipation Proclamation marked the end of enslavement for people in the United States, but that is NOT TRUE. Juneteenth (June 19, 1865) is recognized as the end of slavery in the United States, A FULL **2 1/2 YEARS AFTER** the Emancipation Proclamation.

HOW DO I JOIN THIS AMAZING VIRTUAL EVENT? (10am)
Just REGISTER for the virtual event HERE and the Zoom link will be on its way to your inbox (or check your junk mail!). Join @10am on June 19 and engage in a powerful 1-hour virtual event lead by Erin Jones. Hear from the youth of Gig Harbor, who will share thoughts, poetry and artwork influenced by the racial reckoning of Summer 2020 and beyond.
