26th LD Democrats October Meeting

Come to our October membership meeting! We meet on Thursday, October 1 at the Givens Community Center, Kitsap Room, 1026 Sidney Road, Port Orchard from 7 to 9 p.m. Meetings are preceded by a social time starting at 6:30. This month’s meeting will feature Sheriff Gary Simpson with the Kitsap County Sheriff Office. Please bring non perishable food items to be donated to SK Helpline. See you there!

Come to our September membership meeting! Our social hour this month will feature sandwiches, cake and a beverage for a suggested donation of $5. See you there!

The Bremerton Blackberry Festival is coming up and we still need volunteers for our booth. Dates open are Saturday September 5th, Sunday September 6th and Monday September 7th. We’re working hard to get out the vote, pass out petitions for important initiatives and meeting and greeting festivalgoers. Our ideals of freedom and justice are crumbling under the weight of powerful interests with their own self-serving objectives and a “you’re on your own” mentality for the rest of us. These interests threaten our families, our communities and our values.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

BUILD a strong economy from the middle class out (not “trickle-down”), where middle class families with money in their pockets create a stronger America.

STAND UP for strong communities. Every family has a right to clean air and drinking water, good food, health, and a safe place to call home.

RESPECT the inherent dignity and equality of every human being regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, income, or sexual orientation.

INVEST in strong public schools to open the doors to decent jobs, a secure retirement, and ladders of opportunity for all our children to succeed.

PROTECT our children, seniors, and veterans. Make sure they are defended and supported, not left to fend for themselves.
