Call To June Membership Meeting

The 26th LD Democrats will be welcoming Jaxon Ravens, chair of the Washington State Democrats to speak at our June membership meeting. This meeting will take place on Thursday June 4th, 2015 at the Givens Community Center (1026 Sidney Road, Port Orchard 98366). Our social starts at 6:30 PM with our meeting called to order at 7 PM.

March With The 26th LD Democrats!

Join the 26th Legislative District Democrats as we walk in the Yo Ho Harbor Maritime Grand Parade, part of the annual Maritime Gig Festival. We are meeting at the Puerta Vallarta parking lot (4225 Burnham Dr NW, Gig Harbor 98335–parade staging area). We encourage carpooling & for drop-offs, use Harbor Ridge Middle School off of Peacock & walk over to Burnham Dr. For more information, please contact chair George Robison at georgerobison@centurytel.net. Key Peninsula Livable Fair 2015

We had great support for the 26th LD Democrats presence at the 2015 Key Peninsula Livable Fair. Karen Urman did a great organizing job. Her daughter, Shirley, did fantastic face paintings and had a waiting line most of the day. Staffing our table besides Karen were Vicki Biggs, Kathleen Tei, Jerry Abbott and Ed Robison. Pierce Council Member Derek Young stopped by for a visit, as did Hannie and her daughter Amanda. Thank you to all our Democrats who helped make this event so successful!

Our ideals of freedom and justice are crumbling under the weight of powerful interests with their own self-serving objectives and a “you’re on your own” mentality for the rest of us. These interests threaten our families, our communities and our values.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

We can work together in the 26th Legislative District to:

BUILD a strong economy from the middle class out (not “trickle-down”), where middle class families with money in their pockets create a stronger America.

STAND UP for strong communities. Every family has a right to clean air and drinking water, good food, health, and a safe place to call home.

RESPECT the inherent dignity and equality of every human being regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, income, or sexual orientation.

INVEST in strong public schools to open the doors to decent jobs, a secure retirement, and ladders of opportunity for all our children to succeed.

PROTECT our children, seniors, and veterans. Make sure they are defended and supported, not left to fend for themselves.
